Brother Joseph Shubitowski passed through Loyola House, Nairobi, on his way from Wau, Sudan, to Detroit, USA. Two years ago, Bro. Joe came back to the EAP with the assignment to do major maintenance work on the school buildings in Wau, which he himself had built in the 80th. Read More

Through his letter of September 18, 2007, the then Superior General to the Society of Jesus, Rt. Rev. Peter HansKolvenbach, S.J., officially approved the construction of a Jesuit educational centre to be build in Dodoma, Tanzania. Read More

We are very happy to now have Fr. George Ukken with us, an answer to many prayers. George will minister with the Spiritual Exercises and related spiritual ministries. He also volunteered to reactivate the Apostleship of Prayer and possibly begin Christian Life Communities. Read More

 Fr. Donald Ward passed through Nairobi so as say good bye to the EAP, on his way back to his home Maryland Province. His new apostolic assignment will be among Latin-American immigrants in the USA. Fr. Don stayed at Hekima and visited the Loyola Curia and Pedro Arrupe community. Read More

Fr.Sal Ferrao writes from Rumbek, Southern Sudan: It was in 2002 that the bishop of Rumbek briefed the Jesuits about the needs in Maper Alor, located some 110 kms from the city, towards the Bentiu road, with a population of 94,350 circa in the area. Read More

The Jesuit community in Addis Ababa is now blessed with a novice, Vovendus, who has just finished his probation,  Abba Kifle Wansamo who just returned from his tertianship in the Philippines, and who has not only a lot to say about the Philippines, but also about the SPIRITUAL EXERCISES. He has enlarged our community, and also relieved Abba Groum of some of the pastoral burden. Read More

Your Prayers are requested for those of ours who are sick and are in Hospital: Fr. John Chachu who is undergoing some treatment in Nairobi. Ms. Emiliana J. Kinabo, Fr. Valerian's mother, and Mr. Anselm D. Shirima, his brother, who are very critically ill in hospital. We too pray for Mr. Michael D. Shirima, also Fr. Valerian's brother, whose health is also delicate. Fr. Valerian will travel to Moshi,Tanzania, tomorrow Wednesday 12 march, so as to visit his family and accompany them at this time.

Prayers are requested for the Father of Michael Mungai of Moshi Jesuit Community. He is currently very weak, but on medication.

On 16th, the Kenyan Embassy hosted a prayer meeting cum luncheon bringing together Kenyans residing in Harare to share and encourage each other after the post-election violence. Our Kenyan scholastics participated.  Most speakers of the day emphasized the need for unity and encouraged the participants to try to be part of the solution and NOT part of the problem. Ms. Dora Garcia, elder sister of Fr. Miguel Angel Garcia, the EAP Socius, who was hospitalized due to a cerebral-vascular accident. As she recovers we pray for her and her family.

Ms. Emiliana J. Kinabo, Fr. Provincial Valerian Shirima's mother, who passed away today Sunday 13th March, in the evening at around 20:30 hrs. local time, at
her home near Moshi, Tanzania.
Fr. Shirima has been accompanying her and as well as her family these days . We will inform you about burial arrangements as soon as we know something.

Gabriel Musana the Father of Josephat Shete who passed away in Nakuru and will be buried on Friday the 7th of March.

Richard Strock, brother of Fr. Jim Strock, S.J. Richard died on January 27, 2008 in Arizona.
