Considering to Become a Jesuit?
There are many ways to begin to explore a vocation to religious life or Jesuits. Prayer, conversation with Spiritual director, Spiritual reading and regular of the sacraments are helpful practices in listening to God's call and responding with freedom. It is helpful to get to know the members of the religious community, its ministries, its history, and tradition.
What if I were a Jesuit? ![]()
To a young man who wishes to be a Jesuit, I would say: Come if serving Christ is at the very center of your life, come if you have a broad and sufficiently strong shoulders, come if you have an open spirit, a reasonably open mind, and a heart larger than the world. Come if you know how to tell a joke and can laugh with others and . . . on occasions you can laugh at yourself (Poem by Fr. Pedro Arrupe, S.J - 1907-1991 and Superior General from 1965-1983)

A Prayer for Vocation
Gracious God, Source of Holiness, we praise and bless you for the Jesuits who have been canonized saints and raised to blessed. By their powerful intercession and the anointing of the Spirit, raise up generous men today to heed the call of Jesus Christ who announced to all “Follow me.”
Give to the Society of Jesus men who are on fire for Christ and desire in all things to love and to serve.
We make this prayer in union with Mary, Mother of the Society of Jesus, and through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Whoever desires to serve as a soldier of God beneath the banner of the cross in our society, which we desire to be designated by the name of Jesus, and to serve the Lord alone and the Church, his spouse, under the Roman pontiff, the vicar of Christ on earth, should, after a solemn vow of perpetual chastity, poverty and obedience, keep what follows in mind . . . .The Formula of the Institute
