Welcome to the website of the Eastern Africa Province of the Society of Jesus. The Eastern Africa Province is once of the seven Provinces and three Regions of the Africa and Madagascar Assistant of the Society of Jesus. The Eastern Africa Province comprises of the Jesuit working in Ethiopia, Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The Province is home to more than one hundred and fifty ascribed members, One hundred Jesuits from other Provinces of the Society of Jesus residing in it as collaborators in different apostolates, or for academic purposes.

Our earliest companions, even though they considered themselves weak and fragile and originating from many different places, found the will of God together amid great diversity of opinion…. Thus they began a narrative; they lit a fire, which was handed on in subsequent generations whenever people encountered the Society….
